Further Information

Landscape masterplan and detail design for new leisure centre in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.

EBLA are working within a multi-disciplinary team on landscape design proposals for the new Knaresborough Leisure Centre, which will replace the existing swimming pool and provide state of the art facilities, including a 25m 6 lane pool, studio spaces, fitness suite and café.
EBLA prepared a landscape masterplan that integrates the new development with the surrounding context and existing green space by preserving and enhancing the open parkland character of the site and retaining the existing mature trees. The landscape proposals include new public open spaces, such as seating and café spill out areas, a naturalistic play area, pedestrian footpaths, car parking facilities and planting.

The landscape masterplan was crucial to the success of the planning application, by demonstrating the design intent and meeting biodiversity net gain requirements.

Planning consent was granted in March 2022.
