EBLA were commissioned by Tiger Developments Ltd to prepare a landscape design strategy and concept design proposals to accompany the planning submission for a new residential development at Eboracum Way, near York city centre.

The proposals aim to create a high quality environment that complements the development, enhances the surrounding streetscape and provides open space for the residents to enjoy.

The scheme design is based on the concept of two “L” shaped garden landscapes which wrap around the building, each with a distinct character defined by location, aspect and use: A public zone to enrich the building facades and enhance the streetscape at this key junction, and a semi-private communal garden to provide high quality amenity space for residents, including an accessible route through the site. The building undercroft area has also been designed as an integral part of the gardens through a combination of carefully considered planting and surfacing.

The project was granted planning consent in February 2020 and is currently under construction.
