Further Information
EBLA were appointed to prepare a Masterplan for the redevelopment of the historic churchyard of St. Lawrence, the second largest church in York after the Minster. The churchyard is also the setting of the original medieval St. Lawrence Church, the Tower of which still survives.
EBLA developed landscape proposals in consultation with a joint management group set up for the project to create a welcoming and user-friendly public open space. The proposals include access improvements and car parking provision, interpretation and enhancement of the site of the medieval church, a new garden of remembrance and memorial walk, new surfacing, seating and planting.
